Back home. It feels odd to be back home where everything is where it should be. Nothing looks different. On our flight home from London I kept saying, "grazie" to the steward even though she was speaking english to me. Max says he's happy to have normal lightswitches.
I for one am happy to have my pillow, a 12-pot coffeemaker, bacon, a variety of items to wear, a washing machine, breakfast (all breakfast...I don't discriminate...pancakes, poached eggs, waffles, eggs benedict, orange juice, grapefruit juice, corncakes with chorizo sausages, real maple syrup, tortilla with scrambled eggs and salsa), the lack of humidity.
There is no doubt that I will miss the pastries and, well, so much more. Mango colored sunsets for one; did I tell you about those?
I was just beginning to feel emboldened by my ability to communicate in truncated sentences--and lots of hand gestures. :-) When in Rome...well, you know, use hand gestures.
What a trip. So much better than I had imagined. We survived and enjoyed and experienced and learned. together.
'night all. Thanks for hanging with me.
